I had a decent week last week in picking winners as I picked 8 out of 14 games correctly. I couldn’t believe Cleveland upset the N.Y. Giants the way they did and it didn’t surprise me much that Arizona took care of Dallas.
Below are my picks for Week 7!
San Diego at Buffalo
Buffalo are a very balanced team with a solid offense, defense, and special teams, San Diego are coming off a dominating win over New England at home last week. I think Buffalo will play tough against Philip Rivers and not allow the Chargers to move the ball with ease or make many big plays.
My Pick: Buffalo
New Orleans at Carolina
A big game for both teams, New Orleans demolished the Raiders last week and Carolina was demolished by Tampa in their last game. I think Carolina will rebound at home and be able to run the ball against the Saints and win a close one.
My Pick: Carolina
Minnesota at Chicago
Chicago lost a heartbreaker to Atlanta last week when it looked like they had won it, while Minnesota squeaked by Detroit. I think Orton will connect on some big plays in the passing game and Devin Hester will get in the end zone at some point in the game.
My Pick: Chicago
PIttsburgh at Cincinnati
I will be at this game and the Bengals have never lost a regular season game when I am in attendance (I’ve been to 4 or 5 in the past ten years). The Bengals are terrible and Palmer will not be playing. I like (but really hate) Pittsburgh by 3 or 4 touchdowns.
My Pick: Pittsburgh
Tennessee at Kansas City
Tennessee are 5-0 and the only remaining undefeated team, the beat will roll on this week.
My Pick: Tennessee
Baltimore at Miami
Baltimore were crushed by the Colts last week while Miami lost a close game to the Texans. I think the Ravens defense gets back on track and come out with a win, it will be a low scoring affair.
My Pick: Baltimore
San Francisco at N.Y. Giants
The Giants were blown out by Cleveland last week as they lost for the first time while the 49ers were beaten up by the Eagles. The champs will get back on track with big games from Brandon Jacobs and Plaxico this week and Eli will not make mistakes like he did last week against Cleveland.
My Pick: N.Y. Giants
Dallas at St. Louis
This game could be interesting, Tony Romo is questionable for the game and the Rams got their first win with a surprise victory over the Redskins while Dallas lost to Arizona in overtime last week. I think Marion Barber will carry Dallas to a victory.
My Pick: Dallas
Detroit at Houston
Detroit played their best defensive game of the season last week against Minnesota but still lost, they will not play well against the Texans in Houston. Andre Johnson will have a monster game and Steve Slaton will score at least once.
My Pick: Houston
Indianapolis at Green Bay
The Colts have won 2 straight and I think Peyton Manning has another big game. Green Bay will put up some points but I don’t think it will be enough.
My Pick: Indianapolis
N.Y. Jets at Oakland
Brett Favre will throw at least 3 touchdowns.
My Pick: N.Y. Jets
Cleveland at Washington
Cleveland surprised everyone and beat the Super Bowl champs last week 35-14 while the Redskins lost a game to the lowly Rams 19-17. I think Washington will get back on track at home while the Browns get back off track on the road.
My Pick: Washington
Seattle at Tampa
I really like Tampa in this game, their defense is one of the best and Seattle’s offense is not as potent as they once were.
My Pick: Tampa
Denver at New England
Both teams are coming off tough losses, I predict a close game but give Denver the edge as Cutler is having a breakout year and Laurence Maroney’s status is doubtful for this game.
My Pick: Denver
Week 1 – 8 correct and 7 incorrect. (15 games)
Week 2 – 9 correct and 6 incorrect. (15 games)
Week 3 – 9 correct and 7 incorrect. (16 games)
Week 4 – 5 correct and 8 incorrect. (13 games)
Week 5 – 9 correct and 5 incorrect. (14 games)
Week 6 – 8 correct and 6 incorrect. (14 games)
My overall record after 6 weeks: 48-39
