In case you didn’t know, my favorite sport to watch is professional football and my favorite team is the Cincinnati Bengals. So for fun I have my predictions for the upcoming season. I predict the 2008 Cincinnati Bengals will go 10-6 and make the playoffs. Here is the breakdown of my predictions:
Week 1 – W – Bengals @ Ravens
Week 2 – W – Bengals vs. Titans
Week 3 – L – Bengals @ Giants
Week 4 – W – Bengals vs. Browns
Week 5 – L – Bengals @ Cowboys
Week 6 – W – Bengals @ Jets
Week 7 – W – Bengals vs. Steelers
Week 8 – Bye
Week 9 – L – Bengals vs. Jaguars
Week 10 – W – Bengals @ Texans
Week 11 – W – Bengals vs. Eagles
Week 12 – L – Bengals @ Steelers
Week 13 – W – Bengals vs. Ravens
Week 14 – L – Bengals @ Colts
Week 15 – W – Bengals vs. Redskins
Week 16 – L – Bengals @ Browns
Week 17 – W – Bengals vs. Chiefs
Sure there are still a lot of unknowns as I am making these predictions before training camp has even started… but that is the fun of it. I will do a separate set after training camp and then we can evaluate them for accuracy.
Some key variables that I see are:
1. Carson and Chad need to get on the same page. Last year they were not connecting as well on several routes (even though both put up good numbers.
2. Carson needs to throw less picks.
3. They need to solidify a third receiver option/threat.
4. Most importantly, they need to have a top 15 defense and pay special attention to the defensive tackle position and linebacking crew.
