I like to blend.
Yes, this is a review of the magic bullet. I have to take out my frustrations somehow.
About a month or so ago my roommate decided to stick a spoon in our beloved blender. It broke our blender. It was such a lovely blender and all three of us in the household used it quite frequently. It had a glass jar container thingamajig. It had 24 speeds. It carried mucho cups of goodness. It was a faithful blender.
I like to blend.
So, in the meantime… while we wait for a new blender… ahem ahem, hachoo, cough, cough. I have been using the magic bullet that was stored away in our cupboard. It was collecting dust. Maybe it planned this whole shebang… all along it was secretly plotting to destroy our blender so that it could come out of the cupboard.
I don’t really like the magic bullet. Why you ask? Several reasons. I like multiple speeds. I like to be able to blend very slowly for certain things and then increase the speed for others at different stages in the blending. With the magic bullet there is only one speed.
Secondly, I don’t like that it blends upside down and that I have to screw on the lid and then turn it upside down and unscrew it again. I just want to blend and pour… no screwing. Wait for it, wait for it.
Thirdly, I frequently like to blend large amounts of stuff. With the magic bullet I have to fill it and blend, then empty it and fill it again and blend. I definitely cannot fit a banana, 4 eggs, and a cup and a half of milk in the magic bullet. Aaaaaaah.
Fourthly, I just kind of… well… find it unappealing. I just don’t like the way it looks. Also, I like the glass jar on a blender… unless it’s a Vita-Mix blender which totally rules and is allowed to have a high density plastic container… but I digress.
There you have it… while made decently tough the magic bullet really doesn’t compare to a blender despite what all those informercials tell you… but alas, I must go make my smoothie with the magic bullet right now and for that I am thankful, I guess. No really, I am.
I like to blend.
