Sure you have heard of texting while driving, but have you heard of, or tried, texting while walking? If so, then I am sure that you have probably had some of the same problems that the drivers have. Like: swerving to miss other walkers, tripping up or down steps, running red lights, twisting ones ankle, running into a wall or pole, or running right into someone.
Walking and texting can be dangerous, but it also can be quite annoying to the people that are getting bumped into. Texting has become all the rage but when involved with others in a group it is down right rude. Picture this, you are having a good time with friends and you are laughing and talking about times past and you look up to see one of your friends texting or at the very least staring at their phone. The room goes quiet and before you know it there is two of them on their phones and then three. We have been addicted to our technology!
Doing this can make your friends mad and will give them a complex if they are competing for your attention, they will stop talking and then maybe even leave, then after they get home they will cry. Cry like an injured school boy who has scraped his knee while riding bikes with his friends. All because you chose to give your soulless piece of technology your time. Not cool.
If you are in a group of people and you need to use your phone then do so. but if you are doing it because you are not interested in the convo then please grow a heart. But if you are a lonely blog writer and you find yourself terribly off-course with your article take a second and get back on task.
Walking and texting is dangerous and could maybe kill you, kind of like your cat could maybe kill you by sleeping on your face. Either way it could happen, whether it has or not, who knows, although I did see a fellah walking and texting as he crossed the street… that could have been bad, very bad. Mind your business is all I am saying… I am out.
