I like to play poker, it’s fun with or without money… either way you have fun. I play when I can whether on facebook or with friends on a saturday night over some homemade chips and guacamole.
Although poker is really fun some people really take it to seriously. I know you can win big money playing it, but if your not playing for money then it shouldn’t be so serious, seriously. If you play poker all the time and for money, then etiquette is expected but not when you are playing for free. What brought this on was a poker game that was for fun, not money, and there was a discussion about folding out of turn and then about going all in on a pair of 10’s. It’s for fun. Let’s have fun and play poker with plastic chips and beer.
This is no back-room poker game where dudes are so serious they yell at you for telling your buddy “that dude has pocket aces” it’s just a game, like spades or uno. If you want to join the mob and play for your car title and a gold rolex then fine go and do that but leave me alone to play poker for fun and free.
If you are playing for money expect people to be very specific about their poker, there are things that you should know. For example:
-If you have a lot of chips you will be made fun of out loud
-If you go all in with a pair, people will call you names under their breath
-If you call someone out on their cards you will get yelled at
-If you are last in line for betting and everyone else “checked” and you bet, you are now the new bastard in the bunch.
I am trying to help you not to get killed so try to find this advice and follow it before you get hit in the head with a shovel by a guy named Vinnie. Come to my house and we will play for fun and not for money that away you can make fun of anybody you want to, and say whatever you want. Did I mention we will have fun?
