Do you ever think what it was like way back when no one had cell phones? Yeah, how did people get a hold of you? I don’t like to be tied to my phone. I like to be able to hear it ring and not answer it. I may be eating, working, driving, or whatever. Usually I am at least slightly busy when I don’t answer. I have occasionally not answered when I was not busy with anything but my own thoughts and I didn’t want to interrupt them.
You should take some care when not answering the phone. Most people, in dire situations will leave a message, even though they wouldn’t want to. Also, I have a shortlist that I know to answer depending on the time of day. For example if someone in my family calls late at night I will most likely answer (maybe not on the first ring due to my sleep). If anyone else calls most likely they are gonna have to wait until morning.
I would highly recommend not answering your phone and maintaining a shortlist. Of course it will always be changing depending on friends and family circumstances. I also don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t know… they can leave a message. While cell phones can make your life busier and more hectic, voicemails can help filter that a bit and calm things down. If someone leaves me a message I will most assuredly get back with them in some way.
So, by not answering the phone you save money, minutes, time, and your brain from the electromagnetic radiation that’s frying it!
I kind of want a corded phone…. you know, a landline‚Ķ those old phones from the past‚Ķ yeah, I kinda do.
