Ah, the excitement.  Do you feel it? The excitement of getting up in the morning coupled with your hungry stomach and the thought of an excellent breakfast. Oh… you are not a morning person. Ok, well, I like breakfast, although, I am not partial to any meal. I think I like them all equally and for different reasons. Breakfast is kind of odd though don’t you think?
How did we end up with only certain ‘breakfast foods’? How did eggs, bacon, cereal, pancakes, toast, muffins, and such end up as breakfast food? You rarely hear of people eating salad or pasta or lamb chops for breakfast. Hmmm. The whole idea of cold pizza for breakfast does not appeal to me at all.
So it seems breakfast has pretty much narrowed down for me. My favorite thing for breakfast is a smoothie followed by eggs, buckwheat pancakes, cereal, oatmeal, and toast… all at one sitting. Ok maybe not. Just one of them. The clincher for me is the quality of the ingredients though. No fake stuff, no less than par ingredients. Real butter, real maple syrup, whole grains, real milk, real fruit, cage free eggs, etc.
I am making myself hungry typing this. I haven’t even told you what to do about eating breakfast yet. How many options are there though? You can eat it, not eat it, or eat it some of the time. Or maybe you thought I was going to be one of those dudes who says you should have a piece of fruit for breakfast and that’s it. Or maybe you thought I was gonna tell you to have a huge breakfast since it is the ‘most important meal’ of the day. I decided to give you the best overall advice with what to do about eating breakfast: eat whole foods with good balance and you shall succeed at breakfast.
